Whatever Happened to November?

An entire month slipped by without a blog posting. Sorry about that. Who am I kidding -- almost no one reads this. It is primarily an exercise in cyber-vanity. But then, aren't most blogs?

The new job is going well. I still love the company and most of the people. I got excellent scores on my "Search and Add" QA audits and am learning a lot about medical billing.

In addition to working, November also saw me:
* Turn another year older. Ugh.
* Become a great-uncle. My nephew Josh has a son, James Randall.
* Buy a '96 Explorer XLT to replace my soon-to-end leased Fusion.
* Have a lovely Thanksgiving meal with friends Kiehl, Doug and Randy.
* Attempt my first Black Friday shopping spree in many years. I got a new TV and a blu-ray player. I'm still not sure it was worth getting up at 3:00 a.m. to go to Wal-Mart (I know, I'm ashamed) and then stand in line for 1.5 hours.

We've had our first real snow -- on the afore-mentioned Black Friday. When I exited Wal-Mart at 7:20 or so the sky was filled with huge, pan-sized snowflakes and almost every car in the full parking lot was covered. Nothing stuck to the ground and all evidence of the celestial fallout was erased in a few hours. But it's only a matter of time now. Winter will be here soon.

Speaking of celestial events, December offers a rare one: a second full moon on the 31st, the "blue moon" of legend. This should provide a unique opportunity to charge any magickal implements with moonlight. I wonder if I should forgo my New Year's Eve plans to take advantage of it?
