Tales of Terra Video

So, this weekend I went to Best Buy and bought a new television. Yeah, my old RCA console, circa 1985, is about to be replaced. I got a nifty new HD-ready, 30" widescreen doodad with a Sony home theater system for good measure.

So now that I have (well, will have, as soon as it's delivered, anyway) a decent TV, what the heck do I watch on it? Glad you asked...

I love DVD's. Here's my collection to prove it.

My lastest Food Network obsession is "Ham on the Street." Host George Duran is too cute. Seriously. I still enjoy watching "Good Eats" and "Unwrapped" as well.

My addiction to "Lost" enters its second year, even if I am tired of all the repeats. "Desperate Housewives" is finally starting to get better and has managed to stay on my radar.

"Grey's Anatomy" was always a "watch it if nothing else interferes" kind of show... until Super Bowl Sunday. I still can't believe they blew up Kyle Chandler. Damn. What a waste. But what a terrific way to increase interest in this show.

Sci-Fi Channel's Friday night lineup has been a regular in my house for years, when it included the late, lamented Farscape. Stargate SG-1 (now sexy again with the addition of Farscape's Ben Browder,) Stargate: Atlantis (also sexy with handsome Joe Flanigan) and Battlestar Galactica never fail to deliver thoughtful entertainment.

"My Name Is Earl" is the best new sitcom in a long, long time. Of course, the fact that it stars View Askew alum Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee doesn't hurt any.

Honorable Mentions include MTV's "The Real World" and VH-1's "Best Week Ever." NBC's "Surface" wasn't too bad, and I catch the occasional "Will and Grace."

That's about it.
